BIMM University appoints Dr Mark Cunnington as Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Mark Cunnington to the position of Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience. Mark’s wealth of experience and diverse background make him an exceptional addition to our Executive Management Group.
Mark joins us from Study Group, where he served as the Managing Director for University Partnerships. With 25 years of commercial and strategic experience spanning media and education, Mark’s professional journey has been marked by significant achievements and leadership.
Before embarking on his career in the field of education, Mark enjoyed a successful tenure as one of the Financial Times’ commercial directors. Over the past 12 years, he has been dedicated to the education sector, consistently demonstrating his passion for enhancing the educational experience.
Mark’s prior role as the Chief Executive Officer at Pearson South Africa’s higher education business, which included the management of a higher education institution, showcased his exceptional leadership abilities. Under his guidance, the institution thrived with 12 campuses, over 9,000 students, and a team of more than 1,000 staff members.
In terms of academic qualifications, Mark holds a master’s degree from Royal Holloway University, London, and a Doctorate from the University of Liverpool in International Higher Education.
As our new Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience, Mark will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our students, faculties, schools, professional services, and colleagues across the university to enhance the overall student experience. We believe his extensive expertise and commitment to education will be invaluable in advancing our mission of providing a world-class education.
