BIMM launches new scholarship with Dublin music store Musicmaker

1 April, 2025

We’re thrilled to announce that BIMM has partnered with Musicmaker, Dublin’s most famous music store, for a brand-new scholarship.

For over 40 years, Musicmaker has played a vital role in Dublin’s vibrant music scene. This legendary shop has welcomed some of the world’s biggest artists, including Blondie, U2, Stereophonics, Hozier and Kodaline. They also actively support the wider music community by hosting workshops, live performances, and special events.

Inside the store, you’ll find an extensive range of top-tier musical equipment, from studio and live gear to keyboards and synths. Musicmaker stocks all the major brands, including Fender, Taylor, and many more, along with a comprehensive selection of essential accessories such as headphones, mic stands, and cables. So, regardless of skill level or instrument, visitors will find exactly what they need.

“At Musicmaker, Dublin’s vibrant music culture has always been at the heart of everything we do. Since opening our doors in 1981, the city has grown with us, inspired us, and connected us with an incredible community of artists and musicians. Sponsoring a scholarship at BIMM Dublin is our way of giving back, supporting the next generation of talent and ensuring the Irish music scene continues to thrive for years to come.”

Joey Lynch, Musicmaker

Applicable to students starting their course in September 2025, the scholarship will provide full tuition fees for one candidate looking to study the Foundation Diploma in Professional Musicianship at BIMM Music Institute Dublin. To be considered, you must:

  • Complete your course application
  • Complete an audition
  • Be an Irish or EU citizen with home fee status

“Musicmaker is legendary within the Irish music industry and has been for many years. It has always been there to support new and established musicians (I bought my first guitar there). It continues to display unwavering support in their role of instrument and technology provider, advisor, lobbyist and flag waver for homegrown talent. Partnering with Musicmaker on the new Professional Musicianship Diploma makes perfect sense for us, as no one cares more about performers in Ireland than Musicmaker.”

Alan Cullivan, BIMM Dublin, Campus Dean
